Amanda Brugel
Pointe Claire, a quiet neighbourhood situated in The West Island of Montreal is what you might call a "sleepy" area. A lot of people who aren't aware of they mistakenly believe"the" West Island extends westward from Montreal. However, the West Island includes everything westward from Lachine. Lachine. Amanda Brugel was born there although her time in the city wasn't long. Brugel lived in Courtice in the vicinity of Oshawa Ontario. The first goal was to become an actor, however she was able to outgrow her dance partners. In an article released by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. After I reached the point of outgrowing male dance partners, I stopped. Many former dancers turn to acting, and Brugel was not an exception. A drama teacher in her high school was able to push to Brugel into the direction she wanted to go in. Her teacher recommended her to audition for the role of Anne in their annual school production. She tried out and was eventually cast as the role of the main character in Anne of Green Gables. The show was a recipient of an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to take part in York University's Theater Program which she completed in 2000 with a degree in Fine Arts. Through the years since then, Brugel has landed roles in over 60 plays on both screens, attracting the most attention after she landed the role of Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the sole Canadian cast member during Season 1 of the series and only seen occasionally.
